Roll Top Desk

My friend has commissioned me to restore and spice up this roll top for her.

When I first brought this piece home it reeked of cigarette smoke, I actually had to air it out for a few weeks to get rid of the smell!

Now that I am fairly certain I am no longer in danger of dying from second smoke related cancer, I have gotten started on it! It has some fabulous pulls and lines, so I was pretty excited that she (my friend who is buying it) is letting be creative with it...well creative but staying in her color pallet.  After I painted half of the pulls, I of course changed my mind, so now I need to go get paint stripper...should be a great time trying to get the blue chalk paint out of the grooves in the pulls!
 Love it when that happens!

Pinkerton

This little beauty has been sitting in my garage for awhile...unfortunately I don't really have a good before pic...it was kind of the first piece I flipped and got so excited to get started that I forgot all about the process...it's not about the destination it's about the journey...well that didn't happen so much with this one!  It was all black with a very boring oak top when I rescued it!
Really the only before in this pix is the drawers...kind of the top and the feet...ok, so maybe that's befores with an S... but who's counting?  Anyway...onto the good stuff...

And know Pinkerton is ready for a new home where someone super cool chic can call her her own!  Are you that super cool chic??

Mint Julep

I am so excited that I have officially sold my first flip!!  I finally settled on a pull for the drawer that was missing a pull...I think it looks like a match!  And I know it has found a great home!!
Not bad for left over bathroom and kitchen paint!  Funny that it turns out these are the colors of my friend's wedding coming up in April...and of course she is the now the proud new owner of "Julep...Mint Julep"  That's right...I name my flips like I name my purses!!

My First Flip

I found this little night stand sitting outside of a donation bin, so I thought I would take it home and it give it some love!

This is the after...now I am just on the hunt for a fabulous knob or pull for the bottom drawer.  My friend is getting married next April and these are the colors she has chosen...so of course she is the one who bought it!  I hope she loves it as much as I loved bringing it back to life!

Off to find a new pull!!
